Anchors Away
Both Dan Rather and Tom Brokaw are now moving full speed ahead into their post-network-anchor careers.
Brokaw has become a global warming crusader -- and one can only guess what content Dan "Fake But Accurate" Rather will find for his new "uncensored" weekly reports on HDNet.
Good for them. It's useful for the American people to see and understand the actual political ideologies and perspectives held by two men who purportedly brought the American public "objective" news for more than two decades.
Only it would have been more fair and more honest -- more "fair and balanced," in fact -- if both had admitted to their long-held ideological commitments before leaving the anchor chair, so that their viewers could have corrected for them.

Carol -
I never put that much stock into the "big 3" in the first place.
When I did pay attention, I got bored. Rather in particular was never "one of us;" he was one of us who then claimed to be a deity that masqueraded as one of us.
In short, they were like people on a high mountain: I looked small to them, and they looked small to me. Now, they're just much smaller.
Good riddance.
