He'll Never Learn

This headline just showed up on Bloomberg television: "UN's Annan Says Iran's Ahmadinejad wants a 'Solution' to Nuclear Crisis."

For once, Kofi Annan is right. The only problem is that Ahmadinejad's "solution" is to have a nuclear weapon.

Under Annan, everyone knows that the UN won't impose any meaningful sanctions on Iran. And even if it did, the fact is that, as Claudia Rosett points out, Iran will simply bribe countries like Russia and China to cheat . . . much as Saddam Hussein did.

Kofi Annan will continue to fiddle while Rome burns, because that's all he's capable of doing. He'll never learn.
