A Sad Commentary

How pathetic is it that the government must actually waste taxpayer money in order to debunk insane theories about the Bush Administration being responsible for 9/11? The piece references "talk radio" as being one source through which the theory is being spread . . . but can you imagine the MSM hysteria if equivalent lunacy were coming from the right, rather than the left, fringe?

If there's any silver lining to this bizarre anti-American paranoia, it's that it must drive the leaders of Al Qaeda absolutely crazy. Imagine their chagrin at the prospect of not being fully credited with the largest attack (yet, hopefully ever) on the Great Satan.

I never thought of that, that the conspiracy theorists might be pissing off the terrorists for claiming a different perpetrator. That's actually beautiful. A silver lining of sorts to the moonbat fantasies.

Carol asks, "but can you imagine the MSM hysteria if equivalent lunacy were coming from the right, rather than the left, fringe?"

You mean like the videotape that Jerry Falwell and pals used to sell to raise funds? You know the one I mean, Carol--the one that claimed Bill Clinton used the Arkansas Air National Guard to fly in cocaine from South America? Where was the MSM hysteria you imagine being unleashed?

Do you really want to compare Scaifeisms, Carol?

Yep, there was definitely some good Conspiracy happening during the Clinton years. I don't remember hearing much about it, though, from Big Media.

At any rate, after having seen the 90s, I can look at the Frothing Left these days and say to myself "they'll get over it... eventually."

Cliff the Ignorant completely misses the point by writing, "Jerry Falwell and pals are not political leaders."

OK, Cliff, show us where the article claims political leaders are behind the 9/11 conspiracy theories. Oh, that's right they never say that. Further, I never said that they said that. This whole thing is an fignement if Cliff's fevered imagination.

eLarson agrees with me, writing "Yep, there was definitely some good Conspiracy happening during the Clinton years. I don't remember hearing much about it, though, from Big Media."

Absolutely. Let's add another looney-bin wingnut anti-Clinton conspiracy that the MSM passed along without comment. To this day we heare Rush Limbaugh claim "Vince Foster did not commit suicide, but was murdered."

Where was the MSM hysteria unleashed by that vile bogus conspiracy?

Do we want to keep playing this game, boy 'n' girls? During the 90's Richard Mellon-Scaife and the right wing fever swamp set out to destroy a Presidency because they disliked the person the voters elected as President. In this, the MSM acted as their willing tools.

Cry me a river about how badly some people treat President Bush fils.

Rush said that? I hadn't heard, but if you say so. I never took you to be the Rush 24/7 type.

Cry me a river about how badly some people treat President Bush fils.

Well, I suppose that is what it is all about. After Clinton, I reckon it didn't matter who the next Republican was to hold the office. Yall were fixin to git him right from Election Day.

How's it feel?

twistie-pants doesn't listen to Rush. If he did, he'd know that Rush only presented that theory, already out in the open, he didn't say it was true.

As to the conspiracy theorists, here's my official response if I was prez: "I'll respond to your stupid theories when I get a supoena. Have a nice day." Why waste any time or money doing more? Simply print that on a 3x5 card and send them out as needed.

"OK, folks, I think I got enough information here to tell you about the contents of this fax that I got. Brace yourselves. This fax contains information that I have just been told will appear in a newsletter to Morgan Stanley sales personnel this afternoon. ... What it is is a bit
of news which says ... there's a Washington consulting firm that has scheduled the release of a report that will appear, it will be published, that claims that Vince Foster was murdered in an apartment owned by Hillary Clinton, and the body was then taken to Fort Marcy Park."
--Rush Limbaugh 3/10/1994

Which brings up three questions:

1) Was there the hysteria in the MSM that Carol claimed when the wingnuts invented a bogus conspiracy against the Clintons? No, in fact ABC's Nightline did a particularly hacky hack job to cover for old Rush-bo.

2) What major media figures on the left (ccomparable to Rush Limbaugh on the right) are pushing the 9/11 conspiracy theory? That's right absolutely none--political thuggery remains to this day the province of the far right.

3) Will Cliff the Ignorant and Marshall the Lesser ever learn that unlike them, I never ever just pull something out of my butt when posting? After being hit with the clue-stick uncounted times before, sadly I think they will never learn this simple fact.

Just another wacky conspiracy theory from the right wing fever swamp that Carol conveniently chose to ignore when posting...

In 1994 Rep. William Dannemeyer (R-CA) sent a letter to House Memebrs providing a list of 24 people "related" to the Clintons who died under "mysterious circumstances." Rep. Dannemeyer claimed that President Clinton was personally responsible for their deaths. This list was called the Clinton Chronicles and serves as an article of faith among the far right wing loonies to this day.

Did the MSM go hysterical--as Carol claimed they would? No, quoting the Arizona Republic, "An apparent pattern of violence and intimidation has befallen a number of men and women with ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton, their partners in business, law and politics, and people investigating their affairs..."

So far, I've given three specific examples, each of which clearly refute Carol's claim. Three strikes and you're out--Ms. Platt Liebau. Take Marhsall the bat boy and Cliff the ball washer with you when you go.

eLarson swings and misses with the pathetic, "Well, I suppose that is what it is all about."

No, eLarson. This is about the fact that Carol has lied to you and all of the readers of her blog yet again. I have provided three specific examples (and I have about half a dozen more) that gives the lie to Carol's original claim about the MSM. Since it is impossible for a person as politically aware as Carol to not be cognizant of these examples, they are direct evidence that Carol is lying to all y'all again.

The fact that I can avail myself of this opportunity to demonstrate, once again, that Marshall and Cliff are not exactly the brightest bulbs on the string is just a added side benefit.

I know that all y'all right wing types don't hold honesty in high regard as a virtue, eLarson, but I'm surprised you weren't able to catch my (less than subtle) point.

Twisting in the wind,

Honesty. Funny you make THAT allegation considering which side of the aisle you support. But we'll start with your own, and this is special coming from a nitwit accusing Carol of lying: "To this day we heare Rush Limbaugh claim "Vince Foster did not commit suicide, but was murdered."" But then he supports that with a quote from Rush that says he received the story from a fax, never once showing that HE claims it to be true. I listened to him quite a bit at the time, and though he seemed to lean in that direction, I never heard him claim it was fact.

Speaking of thuggery, to suggest Carol is "lying" and doing so again as a result of this thread is really scrapin' it, don't you think? She might be wrong in this assessment, but lying? Dig yourself. You want thuggery? How about a police psychologist in the Minneapolis PD being suspended at the behest of gay activists due to the psych's past affiliation with Illinois Family Institute? This after great reviews from superiors and no complaints against him in the performance of his duties, just the suspicions from lefty gays. Lefty thuggery at it's finest. Thuggery? How about 40million unborn murdered due to a lefty justices legislating from the bench the poorly constructed Roe v Wade decision? How about the disarming of law abiding citizens from lefty gun laws? You gotta lotta nerve, bright bulb.

How about lying? Like Gore's claim of a consensus on global warming, lefty claims of the SCOTUS awarding the election to Bush, the routine lie of the right reducing funding when the right is merely supporting a smaller increase, the lie of Christians pushing for a theocracy, the lie that Dems have a plan for ANYTHING...I could go on. You, like so many of your ilk, like to project your shortcomings on your opponents, pick a few isolated examples to "prove" your point, and then think you've put us in our places. Keep trying. I love to laugh.

Hey Marshall,

Carol writes a pile of poo post about how lefties are putting forward a 9/11 conspiracy theory involving George Bush. Carol goes on to boo-hoo the fact that the MSM wouldn't allow this to happen if it came from the right.

I have provided ample evidence that worse conspiracy talk was and remains a regular feature of the right, and is pushed by even its biggest names. Simply put, Carol is lying on this topic as she so frequently does.

Carol treats her readers as poo munching lap dogs, and you jump right in with your tongue a-wagging. In addition you managed to work yourself into a spittle flecked rage and posted a series of incoherent and semi-random sentiments that added precisely zero to the discussion.

All this leads me to conclude with the hope that you get back on your meds soon, Marshall.

7:52 PM
Blogger Matt Brinkman said...

And since Marshall insists on continuing the game, here is another conspiracy theory pushed by the right fringe. Since (according to Marshall) Rush Limbaugh would never stoop to such tactics, I'll let Rush speak for himself.

Here is a clip of Rush Limbaugh claiming that Bill Clinton engineered a huge conspiracy to over-state the strength of the United States economy by 30%.

8:01 PM
Blogger Marshal Art said...

The problem is, twistie, that you do YOUR stuff while ON your meds. The clip you provide is another example of Rush reporting what someone ELSE is saying. But it's hardly a typical conspiracy theory, it's a report of discrepencies that could have helped Gore's bid for the presidency. Imagine, without this hyping of economic stats which are now known to be LIES, Gore's whole sour grapes Bush-stole-the-election charade might never have happened. Like Novak's articles said, such discrepencies in business would have drawn legal consequences. Hardly the same stories of coke shipments. Nice try though. As to my "incoherent and semi-random sentiments", I apologise. I forgot I was directing my comment to you and smaller bites with smaller words are required.

But if you want to talk about poop, how about the big pile you made over this one little thread? Jokers like you will chomp on anything if you can spin it against the right. Your lunacy is showing.

Now I see that "Twister" is an apt name. He finishes a frothy blog post with "Cry me a river about how badly some people treat President Bush fils."

I pointed to that and used it as evidence that the entire "Get Bush!" mentality that we jokingly refer to as "Bush Derangement Syndrome" had its roots during the impeachment of Bill Clinton. Clinton's hard-core supporters were going to have their payback regardless of who the next president was.

And this is what Twisted wrote in response:

No, eLarson. This is about the fact that Carol has lied to you and all of the readers of her blog yet again.

So you are claiming that Carol knew all about these things and deliberately LIED about them? That's a little silly, don't you think?
