I'm not sure that the "coalition of varied special interest" idea is unique to the Democrats. Their main hope of winning is in depressing GOP voter turnout. And if the kind of voters who are SO mad about XXX--the border, spending, abortion, THEIR key issue--that they plan to stay home, actually do... the Dems will win big.
Yet I hear that "teach them a lesson" crapola on the talk shows all the time. I can certainly appreciate their attitude, but staying home is absolutely the wrong response. Deeper understanding of the candidates, more probing questions for them, paying attention in other words, is what will resolve the issue. Staying home will compound our problems. VOTE!
