Steyn Behind the EIB Mike

Mark Steyn -- one of the most brilliant writers working today -- has long been a weekly guest on Hugh Hewitt's radio show.

Today, according to, he's going to be sitting in for Rush Limbaugh.

Steyn has raised the issue of whether its time to question the patriotism of the left. His position seems to be that the left has adopted the John Kerry tactic used to defeat America in Viet Nam.

I tend to agree. You can color dissent, opposition, whatever you want, but if you are not joined in the goal of victory, then what goal are you joined in?

Oh, well, we don't need to win. Victory is not essential. Well, let me tell you. We are still paying for the loss in Viet Nam. Since then every tin can dictator in the world has considered taking a run at us.

There was a time when you didn't dare kidnap an American citizen. But along came Jimmy Carter and his silent acquiesence.

"Silent acquiesence." Says it all.

Steyn cuts to the core with such accuracy it's mind boggling, and he does so in an entertaining way.

Marshall Art writes, " Steyn cuts to the core with such accuracy it's mind boggling..."

You mean like Steyn's accuracy in May of 2003 when he wrote the following about the war in Iraq?

"This war is over. The only question now is whether a new provisional government is installed before the BBC and The New York Times have finished running their exhaustive series on What Went Wrong with the Pentagon's Failed War Plan..."

I'm just curious, Marshall, can you point to absolutely anything that Mr. Steyn has ever written that is even half as correct as the above passage is beyond-the-bend goof-ball wrong?
