Why Do They Hate Us?
Frankly, I can sleep very well at night, notwithstanding the fact that the US isn't universally beloved even among our erstwhile "allies" like France. Nobody kicks a dead dog, you know -- being universally liked is usually a sign that one is dead, either literally or figuratively.
Even so, Michael Medved offers some valuable insights about why America elicits so much hostility from other quarters.
After you read it, check out one of my favorite pieces -- that explains why all Americans should love their country.

I don't recall this being an issue before Bush decided to follow the radical neocons. If only junior had listened to his father about how he saw this group for the wackos that they are.
Medved neglected to mention Jimma Carter and other notable jerks who travel abroad and trash our president and country.
If my memory serves, the USofA has been "hated" since the close of WWII, moreso after that period than before. It was a political necessity that allowed some "emerging" governments to survive and gain strength.
This conflagration today is about power, and it did not begin when the present Administration came into offoce. Biblically speaking, I believe it began with a gentleman named Ishmael. You folks who don't believe what the Bible says can invent whatever time frame you want, but the bottom line is: Bush didn't do it.

Do you love your country? Are you a patriot? Vis a vis Jimmy Carter, Nancy Pelosi, Michael Moore, the answer to both questions is clearly a big fat NO.
Joe Lieberman. The answer is yes. So its not a sharp divide, but it is a clear divide.
Is it a good idea to defeat the terrorists in Iraq? If it is get behind the President and make it known to the terrorists that there are no places to hide.
If it is not a good idea, which many seem to believe, then is it a good idea to communicate to the terrorists that we don't want to defeat them?
Pop quiz: Who founded the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq?
