An Instructive Peek Inside the Leftist Mind

Almost unbelievably, leftists in Israel are rallying against the military strikes, and calling for negotiations with Hezbollah and Hamas.

It really is telling -- their country is being attacked by deadly enemies and the ansewr is to try to talk to the same people who have completely disregarded Israel's good faith in withdrawing from both Gaza and the buffer zone in Lebanon.

The leftist mind seems to be the same across the world . . . there's nothing worth fighting for, ever. Indeed, if Israeli leftists can't agree that fighting is warrnated now, when would it ever be?

Carol,

This should come as no surprise. Western leftists are suicidal.

I mean, look at the pathetic bastards. They all seem to have a deep self-hate of:

1) their country, race, sex (if they are male), and civilization,

2) marriage & the family, and

3) traditional religion (except for Islam but only because Islam is the enemy of the West.)

Liberals are ladened with guilt for the success of the West, and they fear the envy of the rest of the world.

Yes indeed, liberalism is truly a mental disease.

Please go fight, Carol, or pony up the money to pay for someone else to do it for you.

When you actually have a financial and/or physical contribution to the war effort, your bellicose rhetoric regarding the worthwhile costs -- lives, equipment, dollars and credibility -- of these various struggles will ring less hollow. In the meantime, it's just a bunch of 'as-long-as-my-hands-don't-get-dirty' bluster emanating from your coccoon high above it all.

Ayatollah, your flimsy attempts to put words in my mouth will always fail.

("...look at the pathetic bastards." Carol, I thought this kind of language and verbal abuse had to end. Or does it apply to Ayatollah?)

Ayatollah...a link for you. It's part 3, but contains links to parts 1 and 2.

Someone on talk radio the other day suggested that we convince the Jews to leave Israel, and we give them land along the Mexican border. I know...ridiculous, but appealing. We know that they can deal with the desert, we know that they know how to defend a border, and we know they know how to build a fence. They get land that isn't constantly under fire - except for the Mexican incursions, which will be a cake walk after Hezbollah and Hamas - and we get border security. Win-win.
We could wish!

suek, I don't think you'll find many people on this blog who think that suggestion is very appealing. In fact, it's kind of insulting.

Did I understand correctly that you grew up in Germany?

Yes, Duke. Carol does allow right wingers to write anything no matter how despicable and demeaning. It is hilarious because the more radical and desparate they become to retain their weakening grip on power, the more they sound nuts. A great example is Gingrich calling for Bush to declare WWIII for November elections.

Recently, Carol claims to be able to read minds around the world, at least those of the liberals and Putin. As she studied law and is not a doctor of psychology, I guess these are psychic talents or an new ability acquired by studying Anne Coulter’s books.

Any reasonable human being might call for a seize fire when missiles are killing large numbers of innocent citizens.

Israel kills innocent foreigners…. (CP) - Seven Canadians, including a woman and her four children of a Montreal family, were killed in an Israeli air strike in Lebanon on Sunday as the Canadian government stepped up plans to evacuate the estimated 40,000 Canadians stranded in the war-torn region.

PM Olmert may have been influenced, by President Bush and his abandoning US’s past practice of criticizing Israel when it acts severely toward the Palestinians or other Arab parties. Israeli officials have taken to adopting Bush's Cowboy War on Terrorism rhetoric.

Bush has shown no interest in engaging in the region and Washington is handicapped by its unwillingness to negotiate with four of the key players -- Hamas and Hezbollah, Syria and Iran -- whose interests would have to be addressed.

U.S. is watching this crisis from the sidelines because the Bush administration has been preoccupied with Iraq, it does not have diplomatic ties with the Middle Eastern countries that matter in this escalation, and it has been unwilling to pressure Israel to avoid military response. The U.S. position represents a change from earlier days — such as the administration of the first President Bush, who enlisted diplomats like James Baker and Brent Skowcroft to ease tensions — when America brought pressure to bear on all parties, including Israel, to slam the Pandora's box back shut.

I forgot to add there are also an estimated 25,000 Americans in Lebanon. So far only two helicopters were sent to remove US embassy officials.

A reasonable person might expect our President to demand an immediate cease-fire, so these US citizens can be evacuated. Considering the billions we give to Israel, they should be accomodating but, we know what happened in New Orleans.

Ditto, I'm afraid we have might have ourselves a premillennial dispensationalist for a president, and if so, he has no intention of doing anything but watching this war go down. This all fits in with what many in his base have been fantasizing about in the 'Left Behind' Book of the Month Club. They see it as an inevitable fulfillment of an end-times prophecy.

Another good reason to keep in check the political agendas of evangelicals. Otherwise, it's foreign policy according to the Bible.

The world is not the peace, love and understanding that the left-wing ideology preaches. Yeah, it would be fabulous if we didn't have 6000 years of inconvenient truths about man's sinful nature. But HEY, let's ignore it now. Maybe it'll go away. dheads in the sand.

I've pretty much decided to ignore the dhimmis here. Sort of a self imposed killfile. I've come to the conclusion that their only purpose here is to disrupt discussion.

Somehow, those who support the extreme left and the proliferation of islam assume whatever cover is convenient to further their agenda. They don't discuss, they preach. They goad. Like hizbollah, they lob missiles of name calling and insults at those who might have differing opinions.

It seems to me is that the only choice is to ignore them or let them drive me away. That may be the ultimate outcome, but at the moment, as far as I'm concerned, they no longer exist.

No thanks, suek. I do not care to take part in "discussions" like this one...

"Someone on talk radio the other day suggested that we convince the Jews to leave Israel, and we give them land along the Mexican border. I know...ridiculous, but appealing. But I'm just PC like that.

I have from time to time tried to decipher leftist posts. I've even attempted transference, pretending to be one of them, and I can't even begin to crank out anything close to their drivel. I used to compare debating with Clinton akin to debating with the phanthom. "I thought you said, you didn't, what did you say, then, well, that's the same thing you said,"

One can be entertained by leftist dissembling. I finally reached a point where I enjoyed watching and hearing about Clinton's antics. I would say to myself, he can't do too much harm, after all we have the other two branches.

How wrong I was. One can only hope such as he never gets power ever again.

Not a problem. Carry on with your discussion, then, regarding the characteristics of the Israelis that make them perfectly suited to living in the desert Southwest. It should be an interesting reich-wing discussion.

Suek,I agree with you, the
liberal era is OVER and the
Democrat party has been highjacked by crazy radicals who are determined to run it off a washed out bridge to it's downfall and demise. Within a few more elections
those who were long time
faithful members will have to form a new party, after they get back on their feet, and the self-analyzing is over. You remember those in Florida
who required therapy after the 2000 election?

I'll reply to the 25,000 Americans in Lebanon. the mjority of then have dual citicenship and only about 5,000 actually want to be evacuated. The Army has an announcment on their site for all civilians in Lebanon who wish to evacuate. I read it this morning.

"For U.S. Citizens Seeking Assistance in Lebanon
July 17: The U.S. Department of State is facilitating the departure of private U.S. citizens who wish to depart and require assistance. U.S. citizens are encouraged to register with the U.S. Embassy online at https://travelregistration.state.gov or by fax at +961 4 544 209 or +961 4 544 037. Updated information may be obtained from the Department of State by calling 1-888-407-4747 within the United States, or, from overseas, 1-202-501-4444. "

I haven't heard the radio comments you referred to. But I'm sure it was a tongue-in-cheek attempt at humor.

Also, I continue to enjoy reading the articles you link to. I don't get to read them all. But the ones I do get to read are very instructive.

Cliff:

That's all they are already.

Actually, I don't want to freeze anyone out. Let everyone comment all they want. Carol can decide if anything crosses the line and needs to be deleted.

But by all means, Suek, DON'T LET THEM DRIVE YOU AWAY. That may be what some of them are trying to do.

I have to agree with Rush, who says that we need some libs to remind us of how dangerous they are lest some of us drift to their myopic and irrational way to thinking. It is funny, in a sad pathetic way, how they trumpet all of these dangers as a result of Bush and his actions, but they can't seem to have the same level of emotion toward a large group of people that would love to hack off their heads. Our resident libs here are proof of that. I just wish I could get the same quality weed they get. Then maybe I'll understand what they think is reality. Plus I'll have a great buzz.
