Vive Sarkozy
Nicholas Sarkozy has won the presidency of France. He is significantly more pro-American than either his predecessor, the detestable Jacques Chirac, or his opponent, Socialist Sengolene Royal.
His election is a good thing -- not just for the United States, but for the people of France.
Certainly, he and German chancellor Angela Merkel are a welcome change from the tired anti-Americanism of Chirac and former German chancellor Gerhard Schroder.

It is very interesting how the Europeans are electing pro American people. Maybe we could do that here in America, too.
Hey! Europe is hating us less and less! Woo-hoo!
If the new leaders of these countries emulate our systems at all, improvements will abound and the parallels to our ways will be more apparent. My opening line won't be so tongue in cheek.
