Romney and the Christian Right

As this piece indicates, Mitt Romney seems to have the best rapport with the Christian right of the top-tier (declared) candidates in the race for the Republican nomination.

In fact, the Rev. Richard Land, in a pretaped piece this morning on "Fox News Sunday," had more favorable things to say about Governor Romney than about Mayor Giuliani, Senator McCain or Speaker Gingrich. And it's worth pointing out that this fact, in itself, should put to rest some of the leftist canards about the intolerance and close-mindedness of the Christian right -- its leadership, at least, seems open enough to Romney.
