It's always charming to watch the heterodox Episcopalians -- who spend a great deal of time lecturing others on the need for peace, compassion and understanding -- attempt to intimidate and bully their more orthodox brethren.

It sounds like some mafia-esque methods. If they're determined to leave, they shouldn't mind leaving the property behind. It'll be like a neutron bomb detonation: buildings still standing but no life inside.
Crossing the Tiber is also an option.
