"You don't need papers for voting”
So says Democrat Francine Busby, in a close race with Brian Bilbray for the congressional seat vacated by Duke Cunningham.
She says that she meant only that one need not be registered to help the campaign.
Right.

Perhaps Mr. Bilbray suspects many CA voters believe a political opponent who encourages someone to ignore laws about voting illegally is an issue.
And Bush never encouraged "illegal immigrants," "guest workers" or anyone else to vote illegally.
Wow, I guess it is never too late for Carol, like any good Republican, to play the race baiting card. Here is the exchange as quoted in the San Diego Union-Tribune...
"Toward the end [of Busby's rally], a man in the audience asked in Spanish: 'I want to help, but I don't have papers.'
It was translated and Busby replied: 'Everybody can help, yeah, absolutely, you can all help. You don't need papers for voting, you don't need to be a registered voter to help.'"
It's pretty clear from context that (in Carol's words) "she meant only that one need not be registered to help the campaign." Too bad Carol couldn't take a moment to actually look at what was said before she started parrotting the racially tinged right wing spin.
The original statement made was, "I want to help, but I don't have papers."
In reply Pete states, "Any fool knows you don't have to REGISTER to aid a campaign."
Pete, you may want to find a course that teaches reading comprehension, or you can continue to make yourself look like a blithering fool. The choice is yours, mate.
