The "TIPS" of the Iceberg

Today, the New York Post makes the fairly obvious point that some of America's most dangerous enemies may be citizens inside the country -- not strangers from outside. The names they list are just the ones we know -- how many more are there that we don't know about?

That's exactly the contingency that the much-vilified TIPS program was designed to address. But the screams of the usual suspects (some of whom, right now, are trying to stop constitutional and effective wiretapping) doomed the program.

Too bad.
