More to be Pitied Than Blamed
This is an excerpt of an email I received in response to this post:
I will not waste my time by going through all of the many reason-based arguments that exist that, if you had an honest and open mind, might serve to educate you and elevate your thinking. No doubt, you vigorously wave the Stars and Stripes, support our president - Crusader George W. Bush - think that Christians are better people than all others, and await your Jesus's return to Earth ...
Take a good look in any mirror - you will see the "problem" and the "enemy."
The writer identified himself as "a reason-based, moral and ethical human being, and one who knows that all faiths lead to hatred and wrongdoing."
How sad is that?

I prefer carbon-based life to reason-based life myeslf. Robespierre and the French Revolutionaries said they had trashed Christianity and replaced it with homage to the "Goddess of Reason," but all that this got France was blood in the streets. Ditto "scientific socialism" and its self-consciously rational and atheistic offshoots, which made the twentieth century the bloodiest in world history.
Wow! Carol, you sure know how to stir up people.
Keep on doing it.
Rzafft:
"I would also be curious to know what content words like "moral" and "ethical" have outside of a faith-based system."
