Thank you, Russ Feingold. As this piece points out, his big plan to censure the President is full of political perils -- for Democrats.
Central among them, of course, is the fact that it reminds people how profoundly unserious the Democrats truly are about national security. As one analyst remarked:
If all people hear about your message is you're against taking all reasonable measures to protect the country from terrorism and you don't want the CIA listening to Al Qaeda, it puts us in an even deeper hole on this issue.
That's right.

I find it ironic that half the team that legislated away freedom of political speech in direct contravention of the First Amendment would have the temerity to talk about abridgment of freedom.
