The Democratic Agenda
Over the past week, we've all read a lot about how the Democrats are having a hard time deciding how to frame the agenda they'll present to the American people in the run-up to the 2006 elections.
Here, as always, it's best to look -- not at what they're saying -- but at what they're doing. Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) wants President Bush to be censured for an NSA wiretapping program -- although no one yet has been able to show that the program was illegal. And thirty House Democrats have signed on to legislation that would create a committee to look into impeaching President Bush.
Oh, at least some of the Democrats have an agenda, all right.

Tony Snow was hosting The O'Reilly Factor last week. He had Republican and Democratic political advisors on in one segment.
The question was put to the Democrat, "What idea(s) do the Democrats have to offer?" The Democrat fumbled around and finally came up with, "Change."
In closing the segment, the Republican said something like, "I don't feel so badly about Bushes sagging poll numbers now. This Democrat is one of the brightest and most talented in the Party. If that's all she can come up with, I think we'll do just fine in 2006."
In a parting shot, the Democrat repeated, "Change."
It was funny!
In a segment that was designed to discuss Bushes sagging poll numbers and what that means, the Democrat could not take advantage. The public was left with the notion that you can't beat somebody with nobody; or more correctly, you can't beat something with nothing.
