Time to Let the Documents Out
Many Republicans may not have liked Harriet Miers. Many Republicans disagree with President Bush over the ports issue and over federal spending.
But all of us agree on one thing: The Saddam files should be released to the American people.
Now.

I don't understand in what sense Negroponte "owns" these documents. Isn't he working for the president? If Bush wants these documents released, I don't see what authority Negroponte has to resist. Or is Bush just trying to be non-confrontational? Something here doesn't add up.
Regarding the ports issue it appears President Bush is making it clear that if others want to second guess him on such issues they can dam well take responsibility for the consequences. This is something critics often forget, the what if factor, namely, if we do it your way and it stinks up the place will it be you that the stink rubs off on? In most cases, on no, not me, its not my war, its not up to me to say what the right course would have been, my job is to throw mud at your idea. Yes, and your job doesn't even require brains. How special!
