Carol Platt Liebau: Reid This

Reid This

Jack Kelly puts Harry Reid and the rest of the liberals in their place, pointing out that there is plenty of evidence of Saddam Hussein's WMDs and his connections to international terrorist groups.

Despite having seen the same intelligence that both President Bush and Clinton did, coming to the same conclusion, and voting to authorize war with Iraq, Democrats now want to distance themselves from a difficult struggle -- and blame everything on the President for their own political advantage.

Jack Kelly is right: This is a debate the Republicans should welcome. It's time someone pointed out that the Democrats are so pathetically desperate to return to power that they'll ignore the facts -- and just plain lie -- even about national security if they think that will help achieve their goal.

Heaven help them if -- for once -- Republicans do an effective job in putting forth their side of the story. Americans would have the chance to see, once and for all, that Democratic histrionics are nothing more than a political ploy by a party that's willing to put its own electoral fortunes above the good of the country.

Democrats seem to be always putting politics ahead of everything else. US history shows many such occurrences.

The timing of this Democratic hissy fit couldn't be better for Republicans.

If the Republicans attack this issue firmly and repeatedly with the facts, it will be devestating to the left. And there is plenty of time for Republicans to beat the Democrats into the dust with this issue.

It will likely be many years before the American public will once again trust national security to a Democratic administration.

One can but pray that the beloved "Stupid Party" will get this one right and clearly, LOUDLY and forcefully set the reecord straight.

But... I'm not holding my breath.

*sigh*

(Where have you gone, Ronald Reagan?)
