Good Economic News -- Here & In Iraq
Allen Greenspan reported on the strength of the U.S. economy. And it must be noted that 3.8% growth is no mean feat, especially in light of the hurricanes Americans have endured. Funny how no mention of President Bush's tax cuts ever appear in the grudging stories about the economy's strength.
And even the LA Times had to concede, in this piece, "In a Sign of Optimism, Iraqis Spending More."
But whatever we do, let's make sure the MSM doesn't credit the President -- for anything. For that might interfere with the fun that's derived from reporting stories like this ("Bush War Policy Now in Play") or this ("Democrats Pile on Bush").

Big state secrets must not be publicised, give the Dems MSM bad dreams.
3.8% GDP. Awesome.
Too bad all that national wealth is going to 2% of the population. So much for "trickle down".
Here's a more meaningful indicator:
Employers added only 1/2 the number of jobs expected for October.
Just throwing out an economic statistic is meaningless(but Carol won't tell you that.)
For example, when you see a low unemployment rate - take it with a grain of salt. It only measures "unemployed" who are actively looking for work. It doesn't measure the millions who have given up looking because there is no work.
It alos doesn't take into account the "buger flipping factor). Those people who are "working" but lost their $50K a year job with benefits in 2001 and are now collecting shopping carts at minimum wage and no benefits for loving, family-oriented mega-corporations like Monster-Mart.
and by the way, as per the chief of the bureau that publishes the unemployment number. The data was adjusted for any effects from recent Hurricans. In otherwords, the weak job data was NOT related to Katrina.
Oops, draino got here first. But if I might add to his excellent commentary...of course the MSM won't speak of Bush's tax cuts; then we'd see behind the wizard's curtain and be even more afraid than we are now. The tax cuts might be stimulating something, but they won't even register down here where our pensions are being looted, our jobs are being given away, the middle class is slipping into the red (never mind the poor who are being canabalized by this administration-can I hear a Walmart Hallelujah!), and our public education and health care are being bled to pay off those tax cuts for the rich. Who want's to see all that in the paper?
tripmaster.
