Carol Platt Liebau: No More Immunity for Dirty Tricksters

No More Immunity for Dirty Tricksters

Here, the incomparable Zell Miller points out:

Plame could not have done what Wilson did and gotten away with it. Wilson could not have done what he did without Plame giving him a way to do it.

True enough. And what Wilson has sought is de facto immunity for his lies, by virtue of the fact that he's married to a CIA employee. In other words, as Senator Miller points out, Wilson can lie with impunity -- and those who know the truth have only two alternatives: Say nothing, or try to set the record straight, and be accused of "outing" a CIA agent.

I support the proposed Miller Rule: Any family member of a CIA agent tapped to help out must live by the same rules regarding information disclosure and domestic political manipulations as those imposed on the agent. If the family member fails to live by those rules, the agent is terminated.

Carol, you slay me. You should try posting this kind of in depth analysis over at the Huffington Post. I'm sure all the crazy moonbats over there would appreciate you setting them straight.
