More on Judy Miller

Interesting. So Judy Miller tried to cut the same deal a year ago that she got last week -- that is, to limit the questions she would answer to those about her conversations with Lewis Libby. That doesn't sound to me like she thought she had to go jail because she was unconvinced that Libby's waiver was truly voluntary . . .

Something doesn't smell right here. And before any findings by Patrick Fitzgerald -- and any more statements by Judy Miller -- will have any credibility, we all deserve to know: What changed Fitzgerald's mind, so that he was willing to give up on obtaining information that he deemed important enough to send Miller to jail for a year ago? And what other source(s) is/are Miller protecting, and why?

Both prosecutors and journalists demand transparency in their professional dealings with others, and rightly so. But now it's their turn to act with the kind of forthrightness that they are accustomed to expecting from others.

Carol, a quick correction... As you know, Patrick Fitzgerald didn't "send Miller to jail for a year." Prosecutors don't have that authority. Judith Miller was sent to jail by a three judge panel who were convinced by the evidence that her testimony was vital to the case. As a last note, each of those judges was appointed by a Republican administration.

Carol -

Of course it doesn't smell right.

She's protecting the President. I believe she chose to go to prison to give herself some journalistic "cred" because she lost it with her propoganda articles and now want to play "little girl victim"

Heard a journalist give a talk yesterday saying that he and other journalists have no idea what she's up to because things just didn't add up.
