Pat Leahy is the ranking minority member of the Senate Judiciary committee. Orrin Hatch held this same position when President Clinotn appointed Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer were nominate for the Supreme Court.
President Clinton took Orrin Hatch's suggestion for possible Supreme Court nominees. Carol's last comment makes it clear why the right wing would never allow President Bush to act in a similarly statesmanlike manner.
