More Gitmo "Torture"
Shame on us evil Americans. According to this story, we're feeding our Gitmo detainees too well! They're being offered food totaling about 3,000 to 4,000 calories daily, and some have gained a great deal of weight (nothing like getting three squares for the first time in one's life). Never mind that the inmates are offered so much food so that they may have a selection to tempt their palates . . .
Here's more proof of our evil-doing:
The meals include meats prepared according to Islamic guidelines, along with fresh bread, vegetables and yogurt. With nearly all detainees fasting in the daytime during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, authorities have arranged for a post-sunset meal and a midnight meal. Traditional desserts and honey also are served during the Ramadan observances.
Where is all this being served -- on the Lido deck?! Is chilled champagne available as an aperitif?
Note that critics are arguing that the prisoners are being given insufficient opportunities for exercise. So perhaps we could broadcast a Jane Fonda workout over the loudspeakers. But then the same "human rights" complainers would argue that that's a form of torture. . .
Anyone wondering whether the Americans captured by terrorists are faring when it comes to meals? Probably not . . . digestion isn't easy when one's head has been separated from the body.

We are just so heartless! I should be so tortured!
It's one of the reasons our prisons are so full, even the worst are not bad at all. Criminals have no worries in this country about having to do "hard time". Who says crime doesn't pay?
