One More Reason to Hold the House

Charlie Rangel says he'll quit if Democrats don't retake the House of Representatives this November. As you'll recall, he's the one who first floated the idea of Hillary running for the Senate.

He has no business chairing the Ways and Means Committee -- any more than Nancy Pelosi has being third in line for the presidency as Speaker of the House, or John Conyers chairing the Judiciary Committee, or John Dingell (who won't take sides between Israel and Hezbollah)chairing Energy and Commerce.

good point dodger, yeah, that really is the difference between left wing and right wing. The left wing acts like a bunch of children and the right wing actually has the courage to be adults.

The GOP should run TV ads listing who'll be in charge in a House run by the Democrats, and include quotes and comments from Pelosi and the would be chairmen.

I don't mean a negative ad, just the facts without commentary. This would remind voters that they are not just voting for their local member of Congress.

He wanted to denounce the PM for not following the President's foreign policy, and called him an antisemite for not immediately condemning Hezb'Allan.

Carol mentioned John Dingell (D-Mich) as one who just couldn't bring himself to take sides against them either.

Is Dingell a raging antisemite on the Dean scale?

I have no idea what you're talking about, but I suppose it doesn't really matter much.

Apparently it is a standard Howard Dean talking point, too.
Several Democrats boycotted his speech to Congress on Wednesday and Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean called the Iraqi leader an "anti-Semite."
