Carol Platt Liebau: One More Reason to Hold the House

One More Reason to Hold the House

Charlie Rangel says he'll quit if Democrats don't retake the House of Representatives this November. As you'll recall, he's the one who first floated the idea of Hillary running for the Senate.

He has no business chairing the Ways and Means Committee -- any more than Nancy Pelosi has being third in line for the presidency as Speaker of the House, or John Conyers chairing the Judiciary Committee, or John Dingell (who won't take sides between Israel and Hezbollah)chairing Energy and Commerce.

Hillary got elected because she was the First Lady. The Clintons were, are, and always will be the epitime of shamelessness.

Its like Joe is always late for work, "Well, that's just Joe." Bill is always on time, never late. But one day Bill is late. "Whoaza, Bill, what the hell is going on here? One more late show and we're going to have to fire you."

That's the Democrats modus operandi, be outrageous to the point where its normalcy.

If they were five year old kids we probably could break them of it. But they aren't.

Just don't let them be in charge of anything.

good point dodger, yeah, that really is the difference between left wing and right wing. The left wing acts like a bunch of children and the right wing actually has the courage to be adults.

What a blessing it would be to have this racist, quasi-literate bigot Charles Rangel retire from the US Congress.

The GOP should run TV ads listing who'll be in charge in a House run by the Democrats, and include quotes and comments from Pelosi and the would be chairmen.

I don't mean a negative ad, just the facts without commentary. This would remind voters that they are not just voting for their local member of Congress.

Yes, how dare people who don't agree with Carol think they have any business in positions of power. Forget the fact that they were democratically elected by majorities of voters in their districts. Democracy is only for other people, and then only if we still get to kill as many of them as we want.

Say, wrabkin... do you recall what Chairman Dean said about PM Talabani about a week ago?

What does whatever Howard Dean said about the Iraqi pm have to do with anything?

He wanted to denounce the PM for not following the President's foreign policy, and called him an antisemite for not immediately condemning Hezb'Allan.

Carol mentioned John Dingell (D-Mich) as one who just couldn't bring himself to take sides against them either.

Is Dingell a raging antisemite on the Dean scale?

I have no idea what you're talking about, but I suppose it doesn't really matter much. It's become standard Republican talking point that anyone -- especially liberal Jews like me -- who doesn't follow in lockstep with the political decisions of the Israeli government is an anti-semite.

Of course, most of these people believe that all Jews will go to hell, and are eagerly anticipating the end of the world so that will happen faster.

So pardon me if I don't take the "anti-semite" accusations too seriously.

Conservatism is dead.

Here is quite the idiot....Today in Energy and Environment , House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-MO) said that if he remains in power after the November elections, there will be no action on global warming for the entire 110th Congress.

Apparently it is a standard Howard Dean talking point, too.
Several Democrats boycotted his speech to Congress on Wednesday and Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean called the Iraqi leader an "anti-Semite."
