Moral Titans of the Left
So Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Rigoberta Menchu and other leftist luminaries are begging America not to interfere in Cuba while Fidel recuperates. Obviously, the US is planning nothing of the sort.
But the appeal is itself amazing. Tells you everything you need to know about those making it -- that (leftist) ideology trumps natural, human and every other kind of rights. What are they afraid of? That the United States is going to "invade" . . . and do what?! Is the current repressive, ugly government superior to letting the Cuban people be free, simply because it's Fidel's?
Over the years, a lot of leftists have argued for the lifting of the US embargo on Cuba, on the grounds that it only hurts the poor Cuban people. Here's a chance for them to have something better . . . but the leftists won't have it, if it means shunting Dear Leader Fidel aside.

I'm trying to keep track
Not trying to read the post, obviously. Carol quite clearly RIDICULES the very notion of a military intervention in Cuba.
Reading. Is. Fundamental.
Well you see what you want to see, don't you wrabkin? Carol is NOT advocating invasion of Cuba. Most other posts are, in my mind, speaking of the difference between fighting the despots or letting them oppress. Each situation is different, but you just like to think those on the right are war-mongers. What paranoia.

Please don't challenge the orthodoxy.
I'm content to let Carol clarify her own remarks. I took it one way, you took it another way. I apologize for accusing you of not having read it, though.
Crikey, editor, when was the last time ANYONE was carpet bombed by anyone? In fact, were you even born the last time it happened? I'm going out on a limbing and guessing you were not.
