An Interesting Perspective on "Life"

Here's a piece from a grown up baby who was almost aborted.

It's funny -- when you read "expert" sites advising young people that abortion is "safe," -- well, they're obviously talking about only one of the lives involved.

Carol says, "when you read "expert" sites advising young people that abortion is "safe," -- well, they're obviously talking about only one of the lives involved." What they don't tell you is that abortion is NEVER safe for the unborn baby!

again the left is out of touch with REALITY.

Just let them refute this TRUTH in questioning:
Is an abortion fatal to the baby?

Bring back backyard abortions for the poor where quack doctors or lay persons perform abortions in back alleys and kitchen tables while they pay off corrupt police and politicians resulting in young women dying of infections or hemoraging or commiting suicide.

Meanwhile the wealthy will get the best treatment by the best doctors claiming another medical condition is be treated or they will fly overseas where abortion is legal.

If I understand Bush and Carol correctly, it is less a moral issue than a money one, where the rich want tax cuts. Similar to embryonic stem cell research where the real consider on the bottom line is just that Republicans don't want to pay for social problems and solutions. Murder itself is okay as long as corporations are doing it and paying for it.

If anyone is more serious than just wanting to complain for political gain and wish to understand the history and the problems try reading:

Here for the first time are edited transcripts of women who had illegal abortions dating from the 1930s in Australia. These stories offer real insight into what women's lives were like; their working lives; the quality of their relationships with men: the medical establishment and prevailing social attitudes. This collection is both raw and graphic with its power lying in the first person narratives. It is a direct intervention into the contemporary political debate surrounding abortions in Australia, the UK and America.

Yea, Yea, Yea...same old ridiculous and tired blather! WHAT ABOUT THE DEATH OF THE BABY!!!!!

Try living in the real world and understanding what happened in the past when abortion was illegal.

Although Bush and GOP make promises, they will not go back to the past when quacks where butchering woman on kitchen tables.

Hey, wake up! You talk about victoms of abortion, with NO MENTION of the most innocent of victoms, which is the BABY!!!!!!

Abortions KILL BABIES!!!!

Don't you get that?

If those women would take responsibility for their actions they wouldn't be seeking an abortion anywhere. More proof that the liberals and Democrats are the party of NO RESPONSIBILITY and VICTIMHOOD. "What? Oh you mean having sex can produce a BABY?! OMG!" Maybe they better listen to Sharon Stone.

To abort a child is a purely selfish act. If they choose to do so illegally then I don't care if they die a horrible death, it is no less than they deserve. I love my mother dearly and had she died from one of her 3 abortions I would still feel the same way. "I don't want it so I am going to throw it away" There is no such thing as an unwanted baby. Far too many good couples wait way too long for their chance to nurture a life. Adoption must be less expensive, but most of these people waiting would give their homes for the chance to have a baby. Purely selfish, amoral, and editor, you are wrong, Bush bases his anti abortion stance on Christian principals. If you knew anything about his character you would know that is what bothers the left so much, he opennly expresses his faith and uses it to help him decide policy. He regularly seeks God and begins EVERY meeting with prayer. It is the proabortion group who stand to loose a lot of money. Planned Parenthood is a for profit group, every year they rake in millions as profit. Profit off of dead children, now that is something Hitler would be very proud of.
Have you ever seen what an aborted fetus looks like? I have. Even being the size of a quarter does not hide the number of fingers and toes they have. I would link to the photos here, but they are very graphic and I do not know how Carol would feel having that on her site so I will refrain.

Strong feelings here. So how can you let Bush allow corporations to kill embryos for research. Sure sounds like murder but, I don't see any right wing christrian even saying one word about it.

So if a women has an abortion it is baby killing and if Bush lets corporations kill embryos it not murder. And because Bush represnts you, you are really the baby killers.

But we know how it works, attack the weak to divide the nation and follow the leader.

No more killing of babies.

Finally Something the winguts and I can agree upon. Okey dokey, let's kick it up a notch. You want personal responsibility forget the abortion issue just arrest every woman who becomes pregnant out of wedlock becayse the fetus in in jeopardy of having it's rights violated.

You ask how. It's right to the pursuit of happiness is being infringed because it is not in a "stable environment".

That's all the jurisprudence I have in me for today.

And dear sweet Amber I know as a professional I shouldn't give away all my secrets but my staff down here petitioned our editor to add your blog to the blogroll. in an effort to measure the mind of the "average American" and my oh my have you shown us just how perceptive those little devils are.

Check your facts young lady before you go off on another sermonette Planned Parenthood despite what you think based upon one side of the evidence is a 501 (c) 3 tax exempt not for profit corporation. Just as the Christian Coalition is a 501 (c) 4 civic organization tax exempt. Am I an expert in this field? Heck no I just take the time to look up the facts in the midst of my rants.

Remember, the difference between being a wacko fundie and an informed conservative is having your ducks in a row.

It dosen't matter who is doing the killing, babies are being KILLED because people like you think that
it is more important to make political points out of this tragic matter, than to just END the practice of baby killing.
What is more important to you, your cheap political
point, or saving the life of the unborn baby?

May I further add, while we debate this issue and still do nothing to stop this barbaric practice, the taking of inocent life
STILL hasn't stopped. When will this evil practice finally end? Do You want it to end?

How incredibly assinine! Bush is a baby killer because of what someone else does with the embryos they created? Where do you get such great weed?

Bush has done a great thing by blocking fed funding for research that has produced nothing, meaning results of any kind that attract investor capital. He realizes that people like me don't believe in killing people for research purposes no matter how old or what size they are, and that people like me wouldn't appreciate our money spent on such things. The crap-for-brains governor of my state of Illinois doesn't have such considerations. This decision by Bush does NOT in ANY WAY force anyone else to destroy those frozen embryos. But of course, it's so easy and convenient to lay it at Bush's feet since everything's his fault anyway. What crap! Keep them frozen until they've all been adopted, and stop the procedures that brought them into being. Such fertility techniques were wrong to begin with for just this reason, and intelligent leaders said so when it began.

A recent Ellen Goodman column (see Chgo Sun-Times archives from last week or so) ragged on about restrictions for new morning after pill. Gotta be over 18 to get it over the counter. No perscription for drug that is birth control pill of twice the potency. Scrip for birth control, none for morning after. Of course, they don't want a scrip for birth control either. "But it prevents unwanted pregnancies!" Only if you count as pregnancy an embryo attached to the uterine wall. Pregnancy begins at fertilization if you're an objective student of basic biology and not a lefty enabler of the weak willed and undisciplined. How's THAT fact for ya? (Don't bother with the rape and incest angle unless you're willing to give up the 99+% who abort by choice.)

Instead of bringing back the back alley abortions of the olden days, how about bringing back honor, discipline, morals, compassion, good parenting, good guidance?

I'm afraid Bush and the GOP have been is control for over six years and have the ability to outlaw the murder of embryos and they haven't even tried.

So spin, cry and blame liberal and Dems but, the facts are obvious. Your president decided (as the decider) to allow corporations to kill embyros.

Refusing to admit this really means you are only using abortion as a political tool. You call the liberal or Dems baby killer yet, continue to support the president.

Frank S,
Do not ever respond directly to me again unless you plan to do so with respect. Do not respond about my blog, which is not political and therefor off topic. My blog is not there for you, read it, or don't, but stay out of my personal space, you do not belong there. You are invited to my political space, not my person space.
As per you other comments
Do your own research on Planned Parenthood, I already did, they made over 30 million dollars last year in excess of all of their expenses. I know they claim to be a non-profit, I know they are granted that status, but they are not.

No it isn't. The right-wingers here have proven to be hypocrites and with no moral integrity, nothing more or less than sheep. Willing to accept corporations killing embryos because Bush decided it is okay. So much for your religious christian beliefs.

And you Marshall are incapable of any discourse accept to throw around cheap insults and break Carol's rules. She should threaten to ban you but she won't because she only bans liberals.

here's a little advice from someone who has dealt in these matters for quite some time. You cannot come into apolitical forum and sling feces around like a mad woman and expect to treated like a sane person.

Second your blog isn't personal space it is an open pathway as wide as the Holland Tunnel that every soul on Terra can read if they have the right equipment. if you don't want comments on your blog you can block them If you do not want anyone to see your daily ruminations your thoughts or idead then buy yourself a nice Moleskine and keep you diary in a locked box somewhere.

Our blog linked to you because of your journey as an avergae American as a provider of both sides in this crazy American political death dance we do have both sides in our blogroll. Anne Coulter and you Hugh Hewitt and Carol along with people we like and things in which we find interest.

Publish a blog and then declare it a private space? What is that?

And as far as the Planned Parenthood thing passion doesn't trump the law. In the world where you live what you believe in means nothing when faced by law. The law of man comes first and all other law is subject to it. Ask Carol our host if you think your faith can help you one whit in a Court of Law when the smallest facts have the weight of mountains and planets of belief are blown away like rose petals.

Good day fine people and good luck I have work to do,

Please provide support for your claim that Bush OK's corporate killings of any kind. The subject was the use of federal funds for embryonic research. Those you believe help make your sorry point are private companies who are within the law and thus George can't tell them anything. We're consistent in that we'd prefer he not try to force private businesses in any way outside of established law. Until there are no more idiot libs in government pretending that life begins at some convenient time after fertilization, perhaps legislation will regulate fertilization practices. Until then, George will act where he can make a difference. You'd make a difference by stuffing a sock in it.

One thing for sure is that you are inconsistent between threads. In one you claim the president is above law and the Constitution and here you say the GOP and the president who have been in control for 6 yrs have no power.

You have spun yourself into having no stance on any issue and no credibilty.

You are also not allowed to adress me personally unless you are adressing me with respect and you are on topic. If you adress me on my blog, that is one thing, I can block you there. My blog is not political for a purpose. You are rude, you lack respect, you lack kindness, and decency. I have not personally attacked you or anyone else on this site but if you continue I will file a harassment complaint. I am not your sweety, your dear, or anything else you call me. Where have I said either? I don't recall saying Bush is above the law, though I have countered your claims that he thinks he is. Pay attention.

Where have I said that the GOP in congress have no power? On issues that require only a simple majority, they do fine. There are some Republicans who are liberal on certain issues. That plays a part as well. The GOP has power, but not ultimate power. ONce again, pay attention. Your ignorance is showing. -snipe snipe-
