Assailed by Reality

Looks like public opinion in Britain has been moved substantially by the thwarted airline attacks.

Guess that's what happens when people are mugged by reality.

Judge Nixes Warrantless Surveillance
By SARAH KARUSH

AP
DETROIT (Aug. 17) - A federal judge ruled Thursday that the government's warrantless wiretapping program is unconstitutional and ordered an immediate halt to it.

U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor in Detroit became the first judge to strike down the National Security Agency's program, which she says violates the rights to free speech and privacy as well as the separation of powers enshrined in the Constitution.

"Plaintiffs have prevailed, and the public interest is clear, in this matter. It is the upholding of our Constitution," Taylor wrote in her 43-page opinion.

Thanks, Judge, for making it that much harder to figure out what sleeper cells in our very midst are up to.

We can now go back to a September 10th mindset and be really, REALLY surprised when some other catastrophe befalls our nation. (And we can all blame it on Bush for not Doing Enough. "On his watch.")

Thanks, Judge. BECAUSE OF TEH FREEDOM!

Britain comes to their senses a bit more, and they catch terrorists because they aren't hamstrung by the stupid ACLU mentality that has nothing to do with freedom. Freedom to be evil is all it amounts to.

This wire tapping stuff is bs. If you are not calling strange people overseas you do not have a problem. If you feel violated then be more careful about what you do. I have OnStar, my husband could check up on me and see wherever I go, but I don't care, I am not doing anything wrong. There are certain things you must be careful about. For example.. when purchasing guns, purchase everyone you want, that way you get 1 background check for 50 of them and the gov does not know you bought 50. Also pay cash. I do this whenever I buy ammunition. I only own 1 pistol (I would love to add the XD9 and a Les Baer 1911 in the near future), but I enjoy shooting on my own range and they might get suspicious if I buy 600 rounds a week. Or, make your own. Doing something naughty? Do not use a cell phone or call from your own house. I use AKO (Army Knowledge Online) IM when I talk to my husband, I know they can be recording what we talk about, but so what, I love my husband and if they have a problem, then they will stop listenning. I highly doubt they will sell the transmitions to anyone.
I will say again, though, even though I don't mind people of other nations commenting I still think it is important to know that they are not a US citizen or they do not live full time in the US. From what I understand Editor is not a citizen, I could be wrong, but that is why it would be nice to clarify, it add context to the comments.

Amber,

Says the US Constition and bill of rights are BS. If so Amber, Bush has no authority whatsoever.

Now eddy-boy is just an out and out liar. Where did Amber say either of those was BS? I'll go out on a limb though, and say that I suspect she believes your interpretation of those docs is BS.

As to the thread, profiling is a must (just as are the other techniques being used with which idiots like eddy-boy and his new heroine Judge Taylor disagree). The lefties will certainly cry racism, but they're stupid. They don't understand the concept and love to make wacky accusations.

Marshall,

Ever try connecting the dots. Amber says all this stuff about wiretapping is BS. Judge say wiretapping violates the Constitution and civil rights. Voila, the two are connected.

One judge has said it violates the Constitution, others have said otherwise. There you buffoon. Connect THOSE dots. Amber agrees with judges that want to protect America, you agree with idiots appointed by idiots, such as Jimma Carter. You'd have more credibility if your every thought wasn't tainted by BDS. Seek help.

Marshall,

You are funny. The US government gets an idiot judge assigned to a critical case. Not!

Blogger Marshall Art said...

They certainly did here. Do you think there's someone who holds the stack of cases and says, "HMM. I think Judge Taylor would be good for this case."? I don't think it works that way. Next case, next judge. And today's radio listening stated there are libs who, while diggin' the result, don't agree with how she got there. She's an idiot appointed by the idiot peanut farmer. 'nuff said.

Marshall, denigrating yourself most be instinctual. Taylor is this first black woman appointed to the supreme court in America's history.

You never fail to show your biogtry and ignorance.

editor,

Seeing things that don't exist must be mental. I had no idea what race the broad is and I don't see how it matters. Stupid comes in all colors. You are proof of that.
