The Embarassment of Religion
At World magazine, this piece discusses the ridiculous decision by the MPAA to give a film a more restrictive rating because of its religious message. The author's point is similar to the one I made here in the LA Times last December. Funny how those who are offended by public displays of sex are expected to look away so as not to stifle the expressive rights of the purveyors -- but those offended by public displays of religion are treated with the most exquisite sensitivity.
