Don't Run Against Wal-Mart
That's the message here based on polls that actually oversampled populations who would be expected to be hostile to Wal-Mart.
And it's all to the good. There's something unsavory about people seeking elected office attacking a legal, legitimate business enterprise that actually does a superb job in serving consumers of modest means just in order to win votes.

And why should it unless it becomes a trend showing an overall decline in Wal-Mart as a business venture?
Businesses expand into new markets. That's what they do - the ones that want to grow and prosper, anyway.
Sometimes a new market doesn't pan out so that branch or franchise is closed.
Happens all the time. Why would it be news?

Yep. It's much more savory to engage in race-baiting, gay-bashing, and immigrant-trashing to pander to racists, homophobes, and xenophobes. Unfortunately, progressives can't play those cards, because the Republican right has patented the use of hate as a wedge issue.
Projection Alert!
