Tomorrow's (Happy) Headlines Tonight!

The Washington Post tips the Democrats off: It's over. Put a fork in 'em -- they're done.

Now that's a piece for Judge Alito to tuck under his pillow tonight. Sweet dreams -- oh, and lights out for the Dems, too.

Perhaps Senator John Cornyn put it best. The ugly attacks on a good and qualified nominee "got as much traction as bald tires on an icy road."

The last of the Dems' air went out when Sen. Specter said that the Rusher documents didn't have any reference to soon-to-be Associate Justice Alito in them.

That said, I hope that the Dems won't let it drop because that will make them look that much more petty & little.

Anytime that the face of the Democratic Party, AKA the 'Smear Party', is Ted Kennedy, Chuckie Schumer & Dick Durbin, they're in trouble.

They need to call Jon Stewart as a witness no he can say, "Stop...You're hurting America."

The Democrats strategy of trawling through a nominee's life to dredge up and blow out of proportion the slightest imperfection, or to mischaracterize whatever might get play on TV has unfortunately forced Alito's fellow judges to testify to correct the slanders. Nomination hearing will now involve popularity contests where fellow judges will be expected to testify.

The final irony is that Liu's quiet, thoughtful approach was far more effective that all the posturing and mean-spirited mischaracterizations of Kennedy, Schumer & Co.

There were and are lots of crickets chirping on the left the last two days! Have a great 3 day MLK Jr. weekend if you get the day off. As for me, I'm going skiing Monday, I think MLK would have liked it that way.
