They Should Be Ashamed
Hope the Senate Judiciary Democrats are proud of themselves -- their ugly and baseless attacks apparently pushed Mrs. Alito to tears. As a rule, I'm not sympathetic to women who cry in public. But hearing one's husband's reputation trashed and his character disparaged by bullies like Ted Kennedy, Pat Leahy, Chuck Schumer et al. for three days is enough to make any loving wife cry -- there's nothing worse than having to stand by when someone you love is unjustifiably attacked, especially by a moral giant like Ted Kennedy of Chappaquiddick.

Good Lord. Do you think maybe Alito's handlers could have off Mrs. Alito to the fact that it was a confirmation hearing for the Supreme Court of the United States of America and not Sunday school?

"But only the most patently dishonest person on the planet would claim that Mrs. Alito left after a Democratic attack. She left after REPUBLICAN Sen. Lindsey Graham was basically praising Alito, defending him and reciting some of the things that have been said about Alito.
But it was not a withering attack from Democrats which unsettled Mrs. Alito. Not at all.

these men who pose and posture and cast aspersions are such pitiful imitations of what noble creatures senators should be.....having just watched Rome and remembering the history of people given too much power and deference, men able to vote themselves any perks and pleasantries they wish, I cannot believe that we, as a country will last for much longer but then I see GWB and I realize that there are still men who will rise to the occasion. Thank God for Texas!!!

As shameful as that performance was, I am amused by Sen. Windbag, er Kennedy, unable to finish a "question" that our lovely Sen Feinstein had to finish. This is really the Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight!
wow, talk about us on the right being Bush apologists! How can you apologize for Teddy and Diane? They were baseless attacks. Who knows exactly *why* Mrs. Alito left in tears. Nobody could read her mind, but perhaps it's because Graham had to come forward and rebuke the attacks that tugged at her heartstrings. You liberals in here have cold hard hearts, please take your attacks on Carol over to Huffington.

Mrs. Alito had endured many blatantly false and scandalous accusations about her beloved husband with grace and dignity for days. But when a Senator apologized for these slimy attacks and actually honored her husband's character and accomplishments, I'm certain she felt such an emotional release that she could no longer contain her tears.
I'd say it was like, "Finally!, Yes!, Absolutely!" Then once that emotion had been released, there was no stopping the flood of tears.
Yep. The tears may have come during Senator Lindsay's turn at bat. But they were certainly the result of endless Democratic lies and accusations.
You're too predictable, Mr. Twister. Whenever the Democratic Party is shown for its truly hollow, worthless self; that's when you get the most vicious. Like a wounded animal, you strike out the hardest when you are most vulnerable.
The truth is that everyone knows what brought Mrs. Alito to tears. And everyone knows that the Democrats have egg all over their face as result. This incident, more than anything else about these hearings, will be remembered to the shame of the Democratic Party.
Twister, it's rather apparent that John Cole is full of spin. Trying to say that the baseless attacks had NOTHING to do with Mrs. Alito's tears? He obviously failed the sensitivity training course at his workplace.
