O Canada!
Conservatives win! And Paul Martin joins the ranks of Gerhard Schroeder, Jacques Chirac -- and Tom Daschle.
Stephen Harper will no doubt work well with re-elected Prime Ministers Koizumi and Howard -- as well as with President Bush.
Way to go, Canada!

This is truly good news. On a personal level as well. I have several liberal friends who like a lively debate with me, and who like to throw "zingers" at me. I will always admit my ignorance about something and then proceed to read about it, and zing them back later.
One of my friends was all giddy about how the two "main" parties in Canada were the Democrats and Liberals. I was ignorant at the time about the parties in Canada, as are most Americans. I made some snarky remark that Canada is only a free country to our north because America is willing to help protect it.
At any rate, all I get now from my friend is silence about Canada. He doesn't fail to mention how South America is growing more and more liberal. My snark back? "Well, it's because the liberal dictators down there still control the media!"
Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea. Fine places exist for all types of creatures on God's earth.
Canada has wised up. I mean, the West has felt used and abused, many French Canadians have had it with the Bloc Quebecois and there is only one real alternative-the Conservatives.
Harper will have a chance to lead and in the next election will win the outright majority he needs to get Canada on the right track!
