Just For the Record . . .
As commenter April pointed out below, there were problems with my efforts to link my weekly column decrying Arnold Schwarzenegger's choice of Susan Kennedy as his chief of staff.
Here's the right link to "From One Extreme to Another: Schwarzenegger's Strategy of Capitulation."
Update: In today's LA Times, Dan Schnur seems to advocate Arnold's running for reelection as an independent. I think there's an excellent possibility that this is a course Arnold is going to pursue. In his own mind, I think he has attributed his defeat in the special election to the unpopularity of the "Republican" label -- and rather than try to turn that fact around, Arnold's just decided that he doesn't want to be associated.
Bring it on. How I'd love to see the social liberal vote split between a Democrat and Schwarzenegger. It's the best chance left for California to see a truly conservative governor any time soon.
