Even Flakier Than the French

Hard to believe . . . but Nancy Pelosi and John Murtha are now bigger cheese eating surrender monkeys than even Dominique de Villepin. Disgraceful.

I wonder what it's like to be known as more intent on surrendering than a Frenchman. I don't have the answer because there's just some things that an imagination just can't comprehend.

I wonder what it's like to be more stupid than a bunch of lemmings following their "leader" inexorably off that cliff, unable to change course in spite of the obvious.

Is it just me, or was the whole making fun of the French thing a lot funnier 2100+ lives and $300 billion ago?

Just curious...

No, you're onto something.

So does that mean we can go back to calling them french fries?

Flag on the play!

I have an Improper Animal Metaphor on Anonymous.

Contrary to what you learned in your public school education, lemmings do not really charge en masse off of cliffs during their migrations.

Repeat first down.

Oh, and another thing: Making fun of the French never gets old.

DISSENSION IS NOT THE SAME AS DISSENT

Those who claim the high ground of dissent give themselves away when they describe the rhetoric of John Murtha and John Kerry as dissent and that of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth as savaging. Dissent itself is a noble pursuit, most formally seen in debates leading up to a vote, at which time some on the losing side of the vote issue dissenting opinions. Under our Constitutional form of government the next step is executing and performing.

Those who decline to carry out or provide support and instead continue the debate are no longer dissenting. They are carping. And there is nothing wrong with carping. I do it all the time. The problem occurs when it slides over into dissension, namely the incitement to act against or impede performance.

For example a military commander has determined to attack at dawn. Dissent would be to argue for the attack to begin at dusk. Or even to not attack at all. But once the decision has been made to attack all are expected to fall to. Dissension would occur if some stayed back and declared they were dissenting.

"I'm not going to join in the attack. The battle is not going as advertised. It is a flawed policy wrapped in illusion. The American public is way ahead of us. We've done all we can. Its time for a change in direction."

Now in my mind that's not dissenting, that's dissension. Some might even characterize it as retreat. Or surrender. Or worse

Villepin used the term "Gobal Timetable". Isn't that eerily similar to Kerry's "passing the global test"? Man, they just can't get away from that "global" term, can they?

What does that meann, any way? I know. It means, "We can't stand the thoughts of the United States of America taking the lead in anything on the world stage. We don't have the capacity nor the fortitude to lead ourselves. So we're simply going to try to get the U.S. to submit all their proposed actions for our "global" approbal."

By the way, has anyone else noticed most of the Anonymous arguments are not arguments at all. Rather they are fits of childish name-calling.

On one side you have a base line of logical arguments with the occasional frustrated slip into name-calling. On the other side you have a base line of childish name-calling with the very common slip into delusional blather.

And some might call it 'thinking' instead of dumbly nodding at everything that comes out of the mouth of the Worst President Ever.

Hi, I'm John Murtha and I'm 'thinking' the Klingons are after me.

Hi, I'm George Bush and if the Klingons will contact me I will tell them where to find John.

Like Mr. Twister said. And in all honesty, Fuck You, Carol. You truly are a real piece of work, insulting war heroes while you pile up your hair into that fright-wig hairstyle horror and claim to espouse decency and morality.

You're a flake, a fraud and a disgusting piece of shit.

Anonymous, you are carping/whining. Nothing wrong with carping and whining, it is just something that requires no thinking, no analysis, no concern for others feelings, and influences no one. In other words you might as well fart into the wind, as they say.
