A Valuable New Phrase
One of the commenters to this post over at ConfirmThem has coined a new name for those -- like Hugh Hewitt, Patrick Ruffini, and Thomas Lifson over at The American Thinker and me -- who are willing to give Harriet Miers a chance.
We're the "Coalition of the Chilling."
We're the "Coalition of the Chilling."

The phrase "Coalition of the Chilling" was originally used to describe the camp that was okay with Arlen Spectre being head of the Judiciary Committee and again in support of the gang of 14 's aggreement on filibusters.
Hugh was right about chillin' over Arlen. The Senator made some noise, but he did his job and did get the nominees through. I hope Hugh is right again about Harriet Miers.

But alright, if you want your own nickname:
Carol, Hugh, and others shall henceforth be "The Axis of Reason".
You read it here first. Just one more reason to check out Carol's blog.
Thank God for your voice of reason over at Don'tConfirmThem.com. I expected intelligent discussion when I first stopped by there yesterday, and all I've seen is a bunch of crazed idiotarians who REALLY DON'T WANT a true constructionist--they want a conservative activist in constructionist clothing. Dangerous prospect, if you ask me. Sandra Day O'Connor and others (Kennedy, Souter) were once considered reliably conservative--but their politics changed, while their activist philosophy did not.
Put me in the "Coalition of the Drillin'"--drilling for more information. I'm not yet "willin'", or so mad as to be "illin'", and am not calm enough to be "chillin'". And I'm not on the bandwagon "shillin'" for her, either. And I'm interested, so I'm not part of the "millin'". Are there any more coalitions to be named thusly?
