I will not yield, I will not rest, I will not relent in waging this struggle for freedom and security for the American people. The course of this conflict is not known, yet its outcome is certain. Freedom and fear, justice and cruelty, have always been at war, and we know that God is not neutral between them. Fellow citizens, we'll meet violence with patient justice, assured of the rightness of our cause and confident of the victories to come. In all that lies before us, may God grant us wisdom and may he watch over the United States of America.

I am a 9/12 American!!!
9/11/01 is the worst day, and the defining day of my life.
I'm proud to be an American, and hope and pray we have all learned from this tragic event.
Sadly, I don't think we have.
A mere six months after the largest attack on US soil since Pearl Harbor, we have President Bush saying about Osama bin Laden, "And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him." (3/12/2002)
I agree with Poison, we haven't learned a darn thing.
The tragic attacks on our Country has provoked thoughtful, quiet reflection in all of us. As I personally struggle to find a way to process all the grief, pain and sorrow I've been feeling, along with the anguish of the over- whelming loss for the families of the victims, I realized my World has been "shattered" in a way so powerful, it will never be made "whole" again.
Images of the terror unleashed on 9/11/01 haunt us all, but, the dismay across the faces of those who stood there at the WTC watching the horrific events unfold, filled with disbelief as though their eyes must be deceiving them as they were trying to process what was happening, but couldn't because what lay before them just couldn't be real. The shock and numbness on those faces as they stood and gazed at where the WTC once stood, trying for days to accept what they had seen, but kept looking back to be sure it all hadn't been some horrible nightmare and the WTC must surely still be there. Statistics show the majority of the brave souls who died at the WTC were between 30 - 42 years old, the prime time of their lives. The number of babies born to "widowed" mothers are over 100, some who knew they were pregnant on 9/11 and some who found out they were expecting after the death of their spouses. As one widow said "her newborn child was the kiss her husband left behind".
Let "Freedom ring! Fly your flag proudly, stand tall for all those who died in these tragic events, pray for the victims, their families and our Military, show your pride in America and take the time to remember all those things in our lives that we are thankful for, and stand United in the land of the free and the home of the brave. God Bless America!

And who was responsible for this failure? General Tommy Franks claimed, "As commander of the allied forces in the Middle East, I was responsible for the operation at Tora Bora,..." He then went on to lie about the operation to shill for the Bush re-election campaign.
And how does the President punish the overt ineptness of General Franks? "President Bush will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to L. Paul Bremer III, Tommy R. Franks, and George J. Tenet in a ceremony at the White House on December 14, 2004." --White House Press Release
