Myths (and Truths!) of Hurricane Katrina

The invaluable James Taranto writes about the partisan myths myths of Hurricane Katrina.

Meanwhile, Bryan Preston, blogging at Michelle Malkin.com, notes that the federal government's "response was three times faster than the response to hurricane Andrew just 13 years ago."

There are some pithy comments from Poison Pero, a frequent commentor here, over at The Right is Right. And my weekly column, calling for more unity and less political division is right here.

The truth is that the most important thing right now is helping those who need it. Please consider a gift to The Salvation Army or to The Humane Society. It is, of course, vital first and foremost that all the human members of the families be rescued and reunited. But for many, it's worth remembering, the family isn't fully back together until their puppy dogs have been restored to them.
