All Too Typical

Not content simply to bash the oil companies (and it certainly takes some nerve for the immediate past First Lady to bash the Bush Administration for having no plan to free America from dependence on foreign oil),
Hillary Clinton is now calling for a "9/11 type" commission to investigate the federal response to Hurricane Katrina.

Yes, given the unquestioned integrity and unqualified success of the 9/11 Commission, that's just the right way to go.

Is this what we'd have to look forward to in a Hillary Clinton administration? A lot of left-wing corporation bashing and a bunch of so-called "blue ribbon" commissions?

Actually, no. Certainly, there'd be the left-wing bashing -- but not the commissions. Most commissions are designed solely to create an opportunity for the opposition party to wreak political damage and assign blame. And as we all know, Hillary Clinton isn't one to accept blame.

Yeah, to paraphrase Art Linkletter--Former First Ladies say the darndest things. Take Former First Lady and Current First Mother, Barbara Bush, for example.

After visiting the refugees in the Houston Astrodome she said, "And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this (she chuckled slightly)--this is working very well for them."

And people wonder where her son gets his famous sense of humor...
