Fred Thompson has withdrawn his candidacy.
It's noteworthy that he hasn't endorsed John McCain, as he did in 2000.

I love Fred Thompson as a true conservative standard bearer. I believe he will make a great vice presidential running mate. Whoever gets his endorsemnt will probably be thinking the same. Too bad he miscalculated the patience of an electorate that needs nostalgic and idealistic Reaganotrophy first; principled-honest-steadfastness, secondarily. He would have been a great American President and still could be within the circles of influence serving our country. True conservatives choices have been cut in half.
