Whose "Unending War"?
Cal Thomas points out what should be obvious to Democrats, even as they try to drive down support for America's mission in Iraq by invoking the specter of President Bush's policy of "unending war":
This war will be unending, not because of the "Bush policy," but because of the Islamofascists whose jihad they believe is a direct order from their "compassionate and merciful" God. Some compassion; some mercy.

The NIE states the opposite. So does Cal know more than the CIA or is he repeating nonsense.
But every serious student of the Islamic threat agrees with Cal. This has been the routine for 1400 years, and what effect our presence has on the surrounding scumbags is just a distraction from their prime objective. But it's a good distraction because it centralizes the fight and exposes the enemy to our military response.
