Good Riddance
Rosie O'Donnell is leaving "The View" after a single controversy-filled year.
It's about time. Her remarks -- and her attempts to dominate the show -- were ignorant, appalling, and often downright bizarre. ABC can do better, as can the rest of the "View" panel . . . including Barbara Walters, whose championing of O'Donnell raised the question of whether she was willing to trade credibility for audience share.

You think Barbara would give you an audition for the vacancy?
I was one who sent an e-mail to ABC to tell them to get rid of Rosie. Thanks to Laura Ingraham for that. It has been a long time coming. Thoughtful opinions are one thing, when one says some of the wacko things that she has said and is still on the air, something is wrong in the United States.
If not you, Carol, or someone like Ingraham or Malkin, (as if any of you would waste your time with such a show) it would be nice to see another conservative woman to balance things out. Then, Hasselbeck wouldn't be such a non-factor. Actually, as much as O'Donnell's remarks and style disgust me, I'd prefer a strong conservative to counter her and force her to back up her goofy remarks. I think eventually that audience would begin to shift.
