Do you recall a Bugs Bunny cartoon, "Racketeer Rabbit", featuring two Edward G. Robinson- and Peter Lorre-type gangsters? The Robinsonesque gangster is trying to stifle the other with a big "Shaddup!"
Frightened, the Lorre-type sputters, "I'm shuttin' up, Boss! I'm shuttin' up!"
Frustrated, the first gangster yells, "Shut up shuttin' up!"
I think that's what Senator Kerry is going through right now.
