The Left-Wing View

On Fox News Sunday, Howard Dean asserted that Afghanistan is the "center" of the war on terror -- because that's where Al Qaeda is.

If one is going to define where the war on terror is being fought by where Al Qaeda is, how does Dean explain Al Qaeda in Iraq?

For that matter, what information does the Mad Doctor have on al-Qaeda (still) being in Afghanistan?

Another case of ignoring the obvious, as bin Laden has described Iraq as the main front in the struggle. bin Laden has proven to be more of a man of his word in these things.

If Afghanistan is the, "center" of the war on terror, then why do the terrorists send their fiercest and most brutal warriors to Iraq? And Iraq being, "next door" to Iran, as Mirtha wants us to be, why the problem?

smh.com.au link Christopher Hitchens: "I am one of those who doesn't care very much about the anniversary, but only because I think about those terrible events every day."
