Katie's Debut

The amount of ink that's been spilled over Katie Couric's debut has been beyond ridiculous.

That being said, I'm tuning in on Thursday to see Rush, who'll be doing the commentary that evening.

Not surprisingly, tonight's program was uneventful. The best part was the conclusion, which included a long line of "anchorman" sign-offs, from "real" ones like Walter Cronkhite and Dan Rather to "fake" ones like Ted Baxter and Ron Burgundy.

Perhaps inadvertantly, the juxtaposition highlighted the fact that there isn't all that much of a difference.
