If So, Good Riddance
There are credible reports -- but not yet confirmation of them -- that say Osama bin Laden is dead.

The veracity of this report is in doubt. If it is so, good riddance indeed.
Other than that the question has to be asked:
cui bono? The two questions arise:
1. Who benefits from continued suppression of this story?
2. Who benefits from leaking this story at this time?
Question one is easy: all who took part in it's reporting are at risk professionally if the report is found to be untrue. Naturally, as this isn't the first time OBL was thought to be dead, one shouldn't be so quick to say he's dead without strong, and I mean STRONG, evidence or verification.
It's probably just an attempt to flush him out, or trace the network as operatives try to check up on OBL.
Of course Zawahiri HAS been doing most of the talking these days.
