Build the Fence
If the Senate will approve the legislation, the President will sign a bill to build the 700 mile long border fence, and not a moment too soon -- along with other provisions to close illegal immigation loopholes.
After all, who knew it was against the law to go over a fence into the United States, but not under one?

You should see the fence!!!!
Actually, though it does sound a bit pricey, we're talking the federal government here and neither party is particularly good at pinching pennies. But in this case, at least they're doing something about enforcing the borders. We can squabble about the cost later. Just get something done!
Minor point here Editor -
The wall the President Reagan was talking about was aimed at keeping people IN. The wall we are talking about is aimed at keeping OUT. If someone wants to get in, we have laws that they are free to follow, however anyone, including you, Editor, can leave at their will, assuming that Mexico wants to let you in.
Not at all. The Mexican immigrants, and any from further south that were allowed to pass through Mexico, know that they are welcome as long as they do it properly. But for you, you shouldnt take the chance of leaving once the fence is up for fear you might not be allowed back in under any circumstances.

The Berlin Wall was a jail - designed to keep people from, escaping to the west.
A proposal to insure closed borders and control inbound immegration is not at all the same.
One of the basic rights that a nation has is the right to secure its own borders.
