Gotta Love Maxine

Apparently, Maxine Waters is declaring that Administration statements about troop withdrawals is a "victory" for her Out of Iraq coalition -- a sign that they are wielding influence.

Well, okay. If Maxine is powerful, I am, too. I'm calling for the sun to set tonight. When it does, think with awe of my power. I control the solar system!

Maxine, rocks! There is no other way of seeing it. Casey's announced troop withdrawl is a victory for her cause.

I have long thought that the repeated demands for troop withdrawals (a.k.a. "redeployment") will be used by those making the demands as a sign of their victory over the administration when the withdrawals inevitably occur. Similarly, the repeated proclamations of losing the war (or the peace, or whatever) will mean that, no matter what happens, we will have "lost" the war just because we are withdrawing troops. IOW, the Leftists are setting up a "heads I win, tails you lose" scenario for themselves so no matter what happens they can claim they were right all along.
