Going, Going, Gone . . .

John Murtha has finally gone over the top. Apparently, he believes that the US is the top threat to world peace -- more detrimental than North Korea or Iran.

No doubt the French agree. Do the Democratic '06 candidates?

France likes us better than the Brits. Murtha is with world opinion, so who is crazy?

Iraqis don't want permanent US bases in their country and Bush is trying to building them. Bush doesn't like history but could learn from what happened to UK when they tried to colonize the Middle East.

Murtha is an absolute lunatic and is rowing with only one oar in the water. On the other hand, his loss of contact with reality and his constant tendency to exaggerate and lie are quite typical of the loony left.

I was hoping to read you thoughts on the administration using Curveball's intell when they were repeatedly told it was not credible. Also your thoughts on Iraqi PM's amnesty.

Oh well! I guess you can't slander a vet with that news.

Murtha's not being slandered, Murtha is a fool and being a vet offers no mitigation. I and all of my close friends are vets and we hope we served our county well, but neither Murtha nor we have any right or privilege that allows us to degrade our soldiers, undermine our nations war efforts, or make statements that tend to embolden our enemies.

At least the guy didn't cut n' run from the terrorist, who attacked us on 9-11. in Afghanistan like a certain president that we all know. And he doesn't support offering the enemy amnesty like some GOP senators and people in the administartion.

You have a president and his VP who started a second war where there were no terrorists on dead wrong intelligence from Curveball, a nut and Chalibi, a con-artist.

Condi claiming threats of mushroom clouds that is based on forged documents. Rumsfeld telling us on the eve of the war that he knows exactly where the WMDs are.

Cheney, Curveball, and Chalibi are feeding information to Judy Miller and later Cheney is citing the her articles as evidence.

To put icing on the cakes and hide all the lies there is a whole bunch of people wearing the Bible on their sleaves.

Honest to goodness, when does the maddness stop?

Ditto is unaware of the facts on the ground in Afghanistan.

Here's the BBC:
US-led forces 'kill 65 Taleban' (The 'scare quotes' are Auntie Beeb's not my own.)

So you were saying about cutting and running?

Even before fighting heated up this spring, Lt. Gen. Michael Maples, director of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, warned Congress that the insurgents "represent a greater threat" to the pro-U.S. government of Afghan President Hamid Karzai "than at any point since late 2001."

One international security official in Kandahar, who has several years experience in Afghanistan and asked not to be named because of the nature of his information, said members of American and Canadian Special Forces units had told him that they were "not winning against the Taliban."

Now the Taliban claims to have 12,000 fighters, while coalition estimates add up to perhaps half of that.

NATO will double the number of troops in southern Afghanistan when it takes over security from U.S. forces there next month in an attempt to quash the worst rebel violence since the fall of the Taliban in 2001, the force's commander said Sunday.

But Lt. Gen. David Richards promised that the incoming force would be more "people-friendly" in an effort to win the support of the local population amid rising resentment toward the U.S.-led coalition over its aggressive tactics.

What do you know -- Murtha never said this. The newspaper that claimed he did has already retracted. Lying slugs like Drudge and Hannity never will, and will continue to spread the lie, but Carol is a woman of too much honor and decency not to correct this with an apology once the truth is brought to her attention.

Isn't that right, Carol?
