They Get It, I Think . . .

Judging from a couple of people I've had the opportunity to speak with here in D.C., it strikes me that Republicans do understand that they are in some electoral peril, and are prepared to get to work to prevent a disaster, come November.

That's reassuring. Now let's hope they can do it.

Dan M,

Get a grip, buddy. Sure, the President's poll numbers are bad. Yep, the Republican Congress has not lived up to our expectations. And yes, those are probably understatements.

But I believe rumors of the death of the Republican Party are premature.

I, too, would like to see a much more agressive posture toward public relations and battles with those idiot Democrats. But we have what we have. And I'm NOT jumping ship!

And I'm NOT going to participate in spreading panic among the troops, either.

If our President has trouble getting his message out - AND HE DOES! - I'm not going to sit around and whine about it. I'm NOT going to throw in the towel.

No, Mr. M, I'm going to do what American politics - the envy of the world, by the way - is all about. I'm going to PARTICIPATE! I'm going to tell everyone that will listen why THIS President and THIS Republican Party is good for America and good for the world.

After all, the facts are on our side. We don't rely on hyperbole and inuendo. We're conservatives, by God! We deal with facts and logic and sound principles. We promote freedom. We promote responsibility. We promote opportunity.

Are you with us? Or have you given up already?

I guess I am a multi-millionaire since I benefitted from the tax-cuts. Who knew you could become a multi-millionaire just being a secretary!
