Ready to Move
No surprise that Brett Kavanaugh performed splendidly in his second hearing. Let's see whether, per Specter's promises, the nomination goes to the Senate floor tomorrow for a vote. Woe betide the Republican members of the Gang of 14 if it doesn't happen -- especially Ohio Sen. Mike DeWine, who's up for reelection in a state where the incumbent Republican governor has an approval rating of 10% (yes, you read that right).
As for the mention over at ConfirmThem about Neil Gorsuch's nomination to the Tenth Circuit: I know Neil a bit from law school and thereafter (disclaimer: We clerked for the same judge in different years). We'd be lucky to have such a brilliant and principled jurist on any circuit.
No more until tomorrow. I'm off later to the Independent Women's Forum's dinner for Condoleezza Rice.
