Important & Likely Underreported

Here are two interesting points you won't be reading much about in the MSM:

First: Patrick Fitzgerald has corrected one of the incendiary allegations about the Bush Administration -- namely, that Lewis Libby was instructed to misstate information contained in a National Intelligence Estimate about Iraq and uranium. Not so. Wonder who, exactly, made that "mistake" in the brief? Perhaps Mr. Fitzgerald should consider whether partisan zeal got the better of the writer -- and whether the writer belongs on staff.

Second: You likewise won't be reading much about this:

Over the weekend, an attorney involved in the case told the Associated Press that, while Mr. Bush approved declassification of the intelligence estimate, he was not aware of how Messrs. Cheney and Libby planned to dole out the information.

In other words, the President didn't knowingly authorize a so-called "leak." So much for the hypocrisy angle that so many of those in the MSM/Democratic Party have been pushing.
